Designed with professional users in mind, the Stihl MS400C-M petrol chainsaw is the world's first chainsaw that features a magnesium piston which is 14% lighter compared to an aluminium piston. Offering excellent power to weight ratio, the MS400C-M is an outstanding chainsaw suitable for a range of forestry work, especially over long periods of time.
Featuring a powerful 66.8cc 2-Mix engine which offers 4kW power output, the Stihl 2-Mix engine uses the 1-in-4 channel technology to provide a higher torque over a wide speed range. The 2-Mix engine also provides fuel savings of up to 20% compared to a standard 2 stroke engine, while emissions are reduced by up to 50% for a cleaner running experience. The Stihl HD2 filter is featured on the MS400C-M chainsaw, with pores that are 70% finer than a fleece air filter. The HD2 filter is made up from polyethylene filter material which is also oil and water repellent making it very easy clean.
ElastoStart is featured on this chainsaw providing easy starting, the shock in the the compression is taken away from the users joints and muscles by a spring or rubber element in the starter handle. A decompression valve is also present on the MS400C-M chainsaw which is a semi automatic valve to reduce the compression pressure when starting. The valve is manually pressed before starting and then automatically closed when the saw is started.
M-Tronic technology on the MS400C-M is a fully electronic engine management which adjusts the engine automatically. It takes into consideration the fuel quality, temperature and altitude and adjusts the engine to ensure consistent performance, maximum speed and superb acceleration every time. The M-Tronic makes automatic carburettor adjustments when necessary.
