The power head is part of the Makita MM4 4-stroke power range, which offers all of the benefits of a 4-stroke engine. Offering better fuel efficiency compared to the 2-stroke alternatives which are available, also eliminating the need for oil at the work area.  This machine offers longer running time, is quieter to operate and with a reduction in emissions is the ideal option for working in a residential area and in general is better for the environment than the 2-stroke competition. As the 4-stroke oil is poured into its own oil tank you will avoid any accidental errors in mixing to the correct ratio as with 2-stroke oil, reducing accidental engine damage and making refuelling a much quicker process, in turn allowing you to get the job done sooner.

Makita Combi Engine

The range of attachments available to use with the engine unit should allow you to complete a range of gardening jobs without having to purchase each individual machine,  saving you money in the long term – both when purchasing the machine and also on servicing costs as you only have 1 one engine unit to service per year rather than several machines.

Owning this combi engine unit and attachment offers a space saving solution. Rather than storing several machines, you just have one to store and transport.

The brushcutter attachment can be used with either a trimmer line head for grass, or a blade for heavier work ie weeds or tough dry grass (I can’t believe our customers allow weeds into their gardens!)  Makita also offer an alternative bent shaft line trimmer attachment for your lighter lawn trimming.

The cultivator attachment is ideal for turning over the soil in your flower beds or allotment, making light of that back-aching job.

For overhead work there is the option of an articulated hedge trimmer to keep your lower hedges in good order, with the option of an extension shaft to enable you to reach an additional meter allowing you to safely reach taller branches whilst stood safely on the ground.

The pole pruner (chainsaw bar and chain) is the ideal attachment to allow you to prune high-level branches, avoiding the need to climb and enabling you to keep your garden in good order.

The Makita gardening range comes with a 1-year commercial warranty - this covers both domestic and professional usage, so you can be sure that you are investing in a high-quality product.
