Grass Collecting, Mulching or Classic Lawn Stripes?
The choice of cutting system is determined by the type of lawn and how often you mow it. Rear and side ejection can handle taller, wilder grass, coarse grass types and seldom-cut lawns. The Bioclip (mulching) method is ideal if you demand first rate results and if you mow often.
Grass Collecting
Grass collecting lawnmowers do just that, they collect the grass clippings which are thrown up though the lawnmower into the box or bag. Each mower will offer a different capacity so when choosing the lawnmower take note of the size of the bag as you don’t want to spend all your time emptying the bag/box do you!
Mulching
This feature is very handy – the lawnmower has a special blade which chops grass clippings finely before returning them to the lawn to act as a natural fertiliser. This feature helps save you time as you don’t have to stop mowing to empty the grass box – also taking up less space within the recycle bin.
These finely cut grass clippings decompose returning valuable nitrogen and other nutrients back into the soil. Thus improving the texture and connect of the soil which leads to less diseases and thatch on the lawn. All in all you get a fuller, healthier looking lawn.
Classic Lawn Stripes
These are achieved using a rear roller; these lawnmowers tend to be a little heavier with two wheels at the front and a roller at the back. This type of lawn mower is also great for ironing out any imperfections and cuts closer to the edge of the lawn as the roller does not drive over the edge like a wheel does.
